Meet Kelly

My Background
I grew up in Alexandria, MN and now call St. Cloud my home. I received my B.A. degrees in political science and psychology from St. Cloud State University. I furthered my education by obtaining my master's degree in politics from the University of Dallas in Texas. I believed that one day I would be involved in politics, and now I feel the time is right.
I have been working in the nonprofit realm for over 15 years. I have been an executive director of an organization that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and I also had the honor to be the first development director at Central Minnesota Mental Health Center. I started a small coaching and consulting business in 2022, and in November 2025 my friend and I launched a podcast on eating disorder recovery.
What influenced my decision to run is healthcare. When I was suffering from anorexia, it was such a battle for the insurance company to pay for treatment; it came to the point of threatening to sue them. At about half of my full-time jobs I did not have health insurance. Healthcare is simply NOT affordable. We are the wealthiest country in the world, but yet we do not offer universal healthcare like most other developed countries. Neither party has been able solve this problem. Nearly 40% of Americans do not go to the doctor because of cost, and it is expected that premiums will skyrocket.
In addition, I am committed to running an ethical campaign that centers on integrity, compassion, and service. The partisan bickering is beyond tiresome and absolutely nothing gets done. The time is ripe for the independent movement.
I look forward to meeting with constituents from all over Congressional District 6 to listen and learn about what they need from their representative. Check out my Events page to see when I will be in a town near you!
